An AGL isolating transformer isolates the individual airfield fixture from the high-voltage series loop circuit powered by a Constant Current Regulator (CCR). It ensures continuous series circuit continuity, so if an individual lamp fails, the primary circuit remains uninterrupted.
Primary Connectors: Installed on the high-voltage series primary cable (typically operating at 5kV) running between the CCR and the transformer primary leads.
Secondary Connectors: Installed on low-voltage secondary leads (typically 600V class) connecting the isolating transformer output to the light fixture.
An L-823 plug and receptacle is a standardized FAA-compliant waterproof connector assembly used across AGL series circuits. It provides quick, insulated, and moisture-sealed field connections between primary cables, isolating transformers, and light fixtures.
We offer isolating transformers across standard FAA/ICAO power ratings, including:
- VA Ratings: 30W/45W, 65W, 100W, 150W, 200W, and 300W
- Current Ratings: 6.6A / 6.6A primary-to-secondary or 20A / 6.6A configurations (50/60Hz)
Yes. CTC provides expert field supervision and installation support. Our service scope includes mounting fixture bases, transformer housing placement, primary/secondary connector assembly, cable jointing, and alignment verification.
Yes. We conduct on-site photometric measurements and compliance reporting for inset and elevated lights. Our scope covers beam intensity verification, color coordinates, main beam alignment, and automated output reporting in line with ICAO Annex 14 / FAA standards.
Yes. Our engineering team carries out thorough technical enquiries and Bill of Quantities (BOQ) reviews to ensure all supplied fixtures, cables, transformers, and accessories align strictly with consultant specifications, ICAO, or FAA guidelines.
Yes. We provide complete site testing and commissioning support, including insulation resistance (Megger) testing, primary loop resistance checks, secondary line testing, series circuit meggering, and full CCR load testing prior to operational handover.
